hp 300c dvd writer

Hi
I have a hp 300c dvd writer and when i try to write to a balnk cd the
software tells me to insert a blank disc even though there is a blank in
the machine. Writing to dvds is not a problem any sugestions??

Can you read cds ok?

Reading cds is no problem. I have tried different brands of cdr media and
still asks to insert blank disc.

Well, try to update the firmware of your writer. Also, check whether a new
installation of Windows poses the same problem.
