Hi,

Im going for a new system .....finally!!

the processor i have decided is 2400+
since im in india there are lots of price diffrences.....
every thing here is bloody expensive :(

im confused abt the mobos,

1)Its either a Asus a7n8x (non deluxe)
or a Msi K7n2 delta -L

i'd appreciate if ne one cud tell me which one is better :)

since i m on a tight budget.......i have to make room for the
gfx card.

2)How much muscle does the Ti 4200 have.......will it be able to run
HL2 or doom 3.......or i might go for a 9500 pro....ne comments
[would be difficult to squeeze it out though :( ]

3)correct me if i am wrong when they say dx9 card......they do mean tht its optimized for dx9
so the drivers which will be realeased cud be used with a dx8 card?
or is it that dx 9 cannot be installed on a dx 8 card?

thx for replying

here is my 2 cents...

1) Asus makes a good quality mobo, so does MSI (in my opinion). Which one to get will depend on budget and any features you want.

2) If you believe the benchmarks posted <A HREF="http://www.tomshardware.com/graphic/20030912/half-life-03.html#halflife_2_1024x76832" target="_new">here</A> in regards to HL2, you may want to go with at least a 9600Pro.

3) A Dx9 based card has the hardware/firmware required to make use of the features included with DirectX9. You can install DX9 with a DX8 card, you will just lose some functionality.

Spec:
Intel P4 2.4B
MSI 645E Max-U Mobo
512MB DDR333
GF3 ti200 64MB
SB Live 5.1
WD 60GB
Quantum 6GB
LG24x24x32 CDR
WIN2K Pro.

both the boards have the same price :S

i thought 9600 pro had 4 pipelines where as 9500 pro had 8
so 9500pro had a advantage over 9600 pro
