Anyway, I've been itching to make another Smiter, and Bnet didn't help.
In the last 3 days.......random drops:
White Royal Shield, 35RA
White Royal Shield, 36RA - punched 4 holes in this one
White Gilded Shield, 45RA
So now I have a few questions about which shield to use.
First off, I don't have an HoZ, or foresee myself having one anytime
soon, so Runewords are the plan, obviously.
1. Sanctuary - Probably my favorite, and I have the runes. Now I just
have to get lucky with 3 holes in one of the shields. If I use the
Cube to socket them, the resists stay the same, right?
2. Spirit - +2 all skills, blahblahblah, and with the resists already
in the shield would work quite nicely if I get screwed while socketing
in the cube.
3. Exile - looks good at first, but it looks expensive when the only
advantages it has is a Def aura and lifetap. Perhaps if I had my
resists already covered, but I don't think I will.
4. Dream - Not that I have a Jah rune........but if I did does the HS
aura transfer over to the Smite damage? I'm thinking that it doesn't.
It will help with PI's I guess, but so will 1p in Vengeance.
So unless someone can think of some good reasons otherwise I'll
probably have Sanctuary on one weapon switch, and Spirit on the other.
Now, I don't have a Stormlash but I do have a 3 socket Phase Blade
that's earmarked for Crescent Moon. The Static does go off while
Smiting, eh?
I haven't decided on armor yet either, i'm flipping between Lionheart,
Duriels, Gloom, Stone, or Duress. I never thought having some runes
would be a bad thing, but I'm annoyed already!
