HL2 Crash

All source games are crashing on my installation of XP, this has to be a software problem somewhere because the same files work on my installation of Windows 7 RC. Just updated my drivers for my graphics card(9800gtx) and still nothing. The games have worked before, im just not sure what could be causing the crash.

Reinstall Steam with any patches, try dumping one Steam game and re-installing it and if that doesn't work contact Valve.
