Hey hey

Well I'm going to try something new to me. I'm going to build an Intel system. I've only ever built AMD rigs, but I'd like to go Intel just to play around...Now I know very little/nothing at all about the current P4 boards. So before I do my own research, I'd like to ask ya'll bout it.

The system I'm planning on building..
P4 2.4C The 800mhz FSB sounds nice.
The ram I'll use will prolly be 512mb (2x 256mb sticks) of Corsair DDR400.

Other things:
SB Audigy 2
80gb 8mb buffer
ti4200 or R9600pro
XP Home Full (maybe Pro if I got the $$$)

So what would be the best performance and budget mobo for the hardware I listed above? :)

Thank you

Abit IS7, asus P4P800, pretty much any mobo that has the 865pe chipset and pat enabled.

BTW the 9600 pro should be a better card, especially with AA and AF enanled.

I really like the abit Ic7 or the Is7, both very stable and with nice bios options. I still think the Ic7 is a slightly faster board if your willing to spend the extra $30 or so. Also, if your willing to spend some extra $$$ and want even better performance, you might consider sata hd's, using the onboard raid. If cost is your concern, I saw a retailer in Ca. has advertised a 2.4c and Dfi 865pe combo for $230.00 this week.

Yeah thanks for the advice, and I know the 9600pro is way better.. I just dont know if I want to spend the extra $$$ on it. A ti4200 will run just about every current game well enough. Besides, this system isn't really a high end gaming system =)
