Hi
I've inadvertently placed/saved an item on the desktop (part of a webpage)
and it's there all the time. Can't move it, select it etc. How do I get rid
of it please?
Cheers

Hi,
Right-click the desktop, click 'arrange icons by', then uncheck 'lock web
items on the desktop'. You should then be able to delete it by either
closing the item or from the display properties/desktop tab/advanced/web
items tab.

Sorry - the "lock web item" box is unchecked. I re-checked it anmd then
unchecked it again - to no avail. Thanks anyway!

Rick
Panic over - I rolled mouse over the item and found a hidden toolbar at the
top of the item, which had a minimise and close icon on it. It's gone. Thanks
for your help thus far.

You also have to turn off AutoHide for some things, like dragging a shortcut
to the QuickLaunch bar or dragging the QuickLaunch bar to a different edge
of the display.
