my system:
epox 8-rda3+ (mobo)
amd athlon 2800+
radeon 9800
1024 mt (kingston)

and the problem is that the system randomly hangs up... i've read hat this could be because the epox mobo doesn't work well with my kingston memory chips(i previously had chips made by vm, didn't work with them either).
i updated the bios etc. but don't know what to do...
the crashes happen most often when playing a game or doing something else that requires memory and processor power...
any ideas?

download memtest86 and prime95 to test for your system.

Me fail English? That's Unpossible!

Is the 2800 a barton cpu? Are you overclocking ? What memory timings, bios version and bios settings do you have? If you don't have the latest bios DISABLE enhanced cpu interface as this is a real pain the the a$$. Trust me I have the same motherboard and early bios releases with this enabled gave me endless problems...

If it is a barton cpu, remove the jumper that selects the FSB and keep it somewhere safe, boot up the pc, go into bios and select the fsb and other settings again that it should be, save and exit and see if this helps. It sorted my low performance problem when running at 200mhz fsb with my 2500 barton. It gave me an extra 100m/b's bandwidth in sandra and a higher score in 3dmark because of a bug in the motherboards design.....

And I highly recommend downloading the latest bios as the enhanced cpu interface is fixed and gives higher performance and some memory issues have been fixed. For me the latest bios is the most stable and fastest yet!

i have the latest bios installed, i haven't overclock the system, and the processor isn't barton.
my memory timing are(i really don't understand much about these but here goes):
t(ras) = 7
t(rcd) = 3
t(rp) = 3
cas (latency)= 20

Must be either a dodgy motherboard or more likely memory. Run memtest86 and find out...

i ran the prime95 and the system hang up like in 1,2 minutes so it seems like a memory problem...the system generaly works better with these kingston made memory chips than with the ones by vm....someone said that changing to buffalo brand has helped "many"....so i guess that's what i'l try next...

Good luck. Also one possibility is that the motherboard is under volting the cpu. My 8RDA3+ gives me about 0.01-0.03 below that I set in the bios. Normally this shouldn't be a problem, but if you have a low quality cpu then it may be a problem. Set the vcore to 1.7v and monitor the voltage in bios. If it stays above 1.65v then that eliminates the cpu as being a problem.

Hope you sort it out.
