I have been having trouble with my registry and seems to have the problem fix
in regular windows; but when I go into Safe Mode I can not open a lot of
files because they are in the (.lnk) mode. Check the HKey_Classes_Root/.lnk
and cannot even click it on get an error message. Can some one instruct me.

If normal mode Windows works ok on these files (shortcut links), then it would be expected that they would be ok too in Safe mode.
However, in Safe mode there is no internet connectivity or modem access, hence no ability to access the internet.

Toopay: What are the properties of these .LNK files? What are they for? and what "error message(s)" do you get?

If it is just as Maurice N suggests, then you can select Safe Mode w/
Networking to access those reg. files.

Maurice, I went into Safe Mode\w Networking and still cannot click on
Hkey_Classes_Root\.lnk when I do I get the error message Error Opening Key
(X) Cannot open .lnk: Error while opening key.
Now when I open My Computer I can open Adware Plus and run it, but if I try
to run if from the desktop I get the error message Winodws cannot open this
file; File: Ad-Watch Se Plus.lnk, to open this file go to internet.ect.

In the property the file is listed as Ad-ware Plus .lnk and is listed as an
application.

Keeping the error message secret is not the best way to get help.

In this case here, the .lnk needs to be changed to .exe
