The sims 3 Cyclic redundancy check error

I have a question as to how to get rid of the cyclic redundancy check error when installing the Sims 3 ! ?

Are you using the original EA discs?

The Cyclic Redundancy Check is the program making sure nothing has been tampered with. Are you using a pirated copy of the game?

I had the same problem and finally figured it out.
You have to "manually" uninstall the game because when you uninstall the regular way it leaves tidbits in your registry. EASIMS.custhelp.com has complete directions to manually uninstall. It involves going into your registry which is easy if you're careful.

The cyclic redundancy check, or "CRC" error, indicates a bad spot on your media. The fact that you're seeing it when you try to copy a file indicates that the bad spot may be within the file itself.

If this is happening on a lot optical media, can also be a failing drive.

go and wash the dics water and mild detergent....dry it and try again...It might help..

i had the same problem it was the video card it wasnt enough mb it has to be atleast 128mb to run the sims 3
