I want to play dirt2 using my 4890...But will there be any difference whether I use win7 or vista??
Will DX11 prove advantageous in any way??

Solution
A 4890 supports DX10.1, so that means it will only play DiRT 2 in DX9.
Only the 5*** series support DX11 at the moment.

So if DiRT 2 supported DX10/DX11 instead of DX9/DX11 it would have been a better solution.

A 4890 is DX10.1 not DX11. So DiRT 2 will only play in DX9 for you.
Not good I know, a DX10/DX11 version would have been a better solution for sure.

Then why does reviews I have read of the game suggest that it is DX11? Most of them mention the game will only run in DX9 or DX11 and point out the lack of a DX10 mode.

I feel codemaster did this because if the game supports dx10 they wont be able to show any difference between dx10 and 11....so they stuck to dx9 and 11...besides since the game is AMD biased they would never like the game to use dx10 as their sales of 5xxx series card would be affected...
