::I have an 802.11g wireless network consisting of a linksys WAG54G adsl
gateway, linksys WPC54G pcmia card in a laptop and a belkin wireless
bridge. All is working ok however when copying a file from the main
computer to the laptop it will only copy at about 450 kbytes a second.
If fact any network access seems to top out at about 500kb a second.
The laptop is only about 5 feet from the gateway and says its connected
to the gateway at 54 Mbs. I have altered various setting like the
wireless channel etc to no avail. The only setting that seems to make a
difference is forcing the control tx rate in the gateway to 48 or
54Mbs, this increases the speed to about 1000kbytes a second but makes
the network unstable.::

:: ::

::Any help would be greatly appreciated.::

:: ::

::The main computer is running windows XP SP2 and connected to the
gateway via Ethernet cable. The firmware on the WAG54G is 1.02.3 annex
A.::

:: ::

::Does anyone know if the firmware on the gaetway affects wireless
performance ?::
