The motherboard you got looks good. Plenty of expansion slots. Just make sure your PSU can handle plenty of surplus power as they slowly degrade how much they can put out as they age and you will most likely be adding expansion cards like a sound card, USB 3 card, and maybe a TV tuner down the road as well as more HDD's and such.

He just means make sure your power supply isn't the bare minimum as your system will only grow in power requirements with addition peripherals.
But yeah, nice mobo, good processor, although why not try for a 4770 or 4850? not that much more expensive.
And wait for a while till after the holidays for prices to go down on the graphics card if you do get a better one.

for the 4670 it's:
Stream Processors 320 Stream Processing Units
Memory
Memory Clock 1600MHz
Memory Size 1GB
Memory Interface 128-bit
Memory Type DDR3

for the 4770 it's:
Stream Processors 640 Stream Processing Units
Memory
Memory Clock 800MHz (3.2Gbps)
Memory Size 512MB
Memory Interface 128-bit
Memory Type GDDR5

The memory clock + size is better for the 4770 ._.

... which is why I said to get the 4770...
The 4770 has 2x the stream processors, ddr5 memory, 40nm process, a.k.a. awesomeness. I've heard you can find it for 80ish if you look around

the second one you linked has a copper heatsink, so i would imagine it will dissipate heat better. therfore it should have a higher maximum OC.

check out review on both though, the only difference will be with the coolers. so whichever cooler is better is the card to get.

Uggh. My budget is $100 for the VC. Sadly, New egg is out of stock for the Sapphire 4770
Btw, which is better for gaming 4770, geforce 260 gt or geforce 9800

Newegg is nice but not the only option. You could just wait, I imagine prices will drop in the next few weeks after xmas.
The gtx 260 will easily beat the 4770 and 9800 gtx but its way out of your $100 budget.

There is no 260 gts. The 260 is a gtx card. The 9800 has gt, gtx, and gtx+ versions w/ different clock speeds, number of processors. The 9800 gtx+ is the exact same as the gts 250.

the 4770 beats the 9600 gt. Plus its got lower power consumption. But the 9600 gt is cheaper, its easy to find for 80 or less.

I couldn't find a GPU for under 200$ I would put in my system that I wasn't scared of it sucking, let alone 100$. You could think about spending as little as possible on other stuff and buying a better GPU, or even buying a really cheap GPU and saving for a better one in the future.. Both are good options, but I doubt you will be happy with a subpar GPU
