Hi again..think this might be a quick question.
My computer has been up and running for over a week now. I do however notice one peculiar thing in my device manager.
under "Other Devices" there is a "Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller" complaining that it needs drivers.
I'm not exactly sure what this is. Under the "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" section in my device manager there is (1) General Purpose USB Hub (probably from my MS keyboard), 4 Intel 8280 USB Universal Host Controllers (24D2, 24D4, 24D7 and 24DE) and 4 USB Root Hubs listed.
I'm not sure where the "Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller" under other devices is supposed to fit in.
Currently through the BIOS I have "8 USB Ports" set up but I actually only have 6 up and running. 4 on the board and then 5 and 6 on the front of my Chieftec case. All 6 ports have been tested and are working fine.
I'm not sure if this is really a driver issue or just a hardware issue.
do you have the latest intel inf drivers installed .. also remove the extra controller in device manager and reboot and see if it reappears... also again check windows update to see if there is a usb patch .. there was for my my notebook this morning
