Grandia 2 Crash after boss

I'm playing Grandia 2 on a windows 7 64bit machine and the game crashes after I beat Tio possessed by the claws of Valmar. During the cut scene after the battle Roan gets mad and stabs some machinery near by and the game crashes at that point every time. Has anyone else experienced this and if so how can I fix it.?

At first I was playing the game in compatibility mode of Windows 98 then tried 95 then 2000 then XP it always crashes at the same point. Can anybody help? Thanks in advance.

I had this same problem. Try using the gmconfig setup application and reset all settings to default. I ran the game in Windows XP SP3 compatibility after this, killed the Claws again for the fifth time and it didn't crash afterwards.
