I've got a p4 2GHz laptop runnng a desktop cpu. It runs a 845M chipset with Radeon 7500/64 video card. Since it is a desktop replacement it has 3 spindles. The AC power supply is 120 watts. Sure desktop drives are more power hungry but a desktop PS does not need to run a display or charge a battery. Why do desktop PS's need to be upwards of 300 watts???
Give me fuel, give me fire, give me that which I desire.

the display on laptop is LCD. that needs very few power. the laptop processors are power less consuming cpus on purpose for laptops as for all their peripherals. about the battery, it is only recharged when you don't use your laptop, along with the standby mode & the power saving.
if you know you don't know, the way could be more easy ...
I've seen a ton of people saying that if you add a drive or two to your system, that you should upgrade your powersupply by 50 watts. There are people around here with 440 watt supplies with a single cpu, two hard drives, and two disk drives.
If my baby don't love me, I know, I know, her sister will.
