I have an Intel P4 2.8 w/ D865PERLk mobo. It has an integrated soundcard by "Soundmax". I am having trouble using headphones with it. They always conflict with each other. I checked the settings etc...

Is there any other soundcards I can install and will it conflict with "SoundMax"?

try to install new drivers. uninstall the old ones, download the newest from the internet, and see if it works. maybe a patch for it too. if not any crappy sounds card will do, i just bought a crappy 6.1 surround sound card for 12 bucks including shipping. not the best but it makes all the speakers work.

Just about any PCI soundcard will work fine, you can use two cards at the same time or disable the onboard sound in BIOS (I'd disable it).
