I am/was in the process of moving files from my old computer (Win 98SE) to my
new computer (Win Xp Pro SP2) via my 40G USB 2.0 hard drive. I lost all my
files on my FAT32 partition (7.25G) when I was deleting files on the two NTFS
partitions (15G each). Now the Disk Management says recognizes one of the
NTFS partition and the rest of the disk is unknown. I don't know what
happened. I didn't delete files in the FAT32 partition or reformat the disk.
I'm using Recover My Files v. 3.73 to try get back whatever was lost on the
FAT32 partition. It ran once then stopped responding. When I tried to run the
program again, it said "Unable to read/write to disk. Administrator rights
may be required." What do I have to do so Recover My Files can read/write to
the disk? Am I following the right path to recovering my files by using
Recover My Files? If not, what should I do? Please help me. Thanks in advance.
