i just finished reading the review of the 848p chipset and i noticed a, at least to me, what is a major flaw. they compared it to the 865 and 875 chipset but since it's supposed to replace the 845 why not list the 845pe chipset as well, along w/the major differences between the 2. now i have an 845pe chipset mobo but there are things that i would like have, sata, 800 fsb, ht etc. i was not planning on upgrading till about nov 04 because by then btx, pci express & the p5 will be out(along w/the bugs worked out). but if i could buy a new mobo w/the 848p say for about $100 and i could wait another year (nov 05) to do the major upgrade then i'd consider it because i could use all my current stuff (ram, video etc) but if my hd went i could replace it w/a sata or i could simply upgrade my processor with an 800fsb and ht when the prices went down and replace my 2.4b.
i still enjoyed the article and i'll be very interested when the boards come out and when thg does a side by side review of them (abit, asus, gigabyte etc). still?
