<b>Release Notes</b>

WHQL certified kit for nForce, nForce2, and nForce3

First release of NVIDIA IDE driver for Windows XP and Windows 2000

General compatibility fixes

Audio Improvements:-

Realtek ALC655 codec support added

Fix for BSOD on loading DLS files

Reduced susceptibility to audio glitches under heavy system load; additional fixes for 6 channel GetPosition glitches
ASIO support for recording at sample rates other than 48kHz; lower and more predictable latency

Fixes for NOLF. The 3D minimum and maximum distance and the roll off factor were not being taken into account for air absorption. Also modified reverb gain so that the max distance was taken into account

Fix for EAX reverbs; initialized EAX reverbs to off when querying for the EAX listener interface; updated EAX property handlers to ignore invalid parameters instead of range limiting -- this matches Creative EAX behavior

Maybe that will fix all the issues i've been having with my onboard sound. I was thinking of going back to my old sound card, it was that annoying.

Athlon XP 2400+ @ 2160 180 FSB
GF4 Ti4200 @ 275/575
GA-7N400Pro2
1GiG Kingston PC3200 @ 432MHz (Dual Channel)

I installed these for the updated IDE drivers. I dont use the onboard sound, mines only 2channel (8rda).

Seems fine, probably better- its to hard to tell. Nothing was broke before.

I just tell it like it is and some can't handle it. If your experience is different, well congratu-fukulation.

It seems everything is improved and fixed. Check out what they are saying at <A HREF="http://www.nforcershq.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=34614&sid=6dbb7340f956845ffae7bcdd8316b5b3" target="_new"> this thread</A>.

I had problems with the older NV IDE release but went back to MS and those worked fine.. the new NV are great though.

The IDEs are now fixed.
It took a while but this is just more proof that NV isnt all the evil things people have been spouting about them.
Great company and great products, the FXs are great products in their own right they are just designed out of DX9 spec.

I am currently using the 2.45 drivers (without nvidia IDE drivers) and i intend to install the new drivers, did you guys remove the old drivers using control panel (or any software) or will it be ok just to install over the top?

no matter how hard you try, you can't polish a turd. :]

<A HREF="http://www.hardocp.com" target="_new">According to HardOCP</A>:
I have had more than a few folks recommend <A HREF="http://mwarhead.motherboardfaqs.com/" target="_new">Mwarhead's nForce "Reset"</A> along with <A HREF="http://www.driverheaven.net/cleaner/" target="_new">Driver Cleaner</A>. These two programs seem to do a fine job of making your system like a virgin...at least in the eyes of nForce software. As always, we suggest you back up everything you value before changing drivers now days.
Hope this helps.

One issue I had with installing the new Nforce drivers..
I used Driver Cleaner after the uninstall, that worked fine.
However, after everything was all said and done, my CAT drivers were missing SmartGart and VPU Recovery tab. Very weird, so I just reinstalled cat3.8, everything is peachy now.

Anyone else get any weird issues with their Cat drivers after installing the Nforce software?
