Recently updated to SP2 via autoupdate and I discovered this strange directory on my hard drive:
c:\1sc20sZ930vn380va9308\SP2 (or something like that)
I have no access to see what's in the directory or even see how much space it's consuming. I have administrator rights on my PC so I figure I should be able to see anything on my harddrive. I've already tried to change the folder view properties. I just keep getting an "access denied" message.
Any ideas what's in this directory or how I can take a peek?
It is probably the temporary directory that sp2 made when it was extracting the installer. You can take ownership of the file by doing this:
Make sure simple filesharing is off in tools>folder options>view.
Right click on file and go to properties.
go to security
go to advanced
go to owners
select administrators
check replace owner on subcontainers and objects
hit ok
You should then be able to do what ever you want to do with it. It might be there if you selected the archive option when installing sp2. If you did select archive I recommend not deleting that file if you ever want to remove sp2.
