Issues with playing Crysis Warhead, L4D2, and COD: MW2 on New System

I recently built a 2010 computer and its been fast and all but theres a problem whenever I play Crysis, L4D2m MW2, and other games. There is always some sort of "screen lag" as in for some reason I'm getting low fps or something. Whenever I turn quickly, the adjustment is really rough unlike my previous system. Ironically so, my old pc had a 2.2 Ghz processor and slower RAM and ran these games at the highest settings without a problem. Also I'm using the same graphics card (ATI 4850 w/Thermaltake DuOrb Cooler) , PSU (Antec 650W) , and monitor (Acer 23" P235H) from my old system. Help would be much appreciated.

I also seem to have the latest ATI drivers (12/17/09 update for 4800 series). I used cpuz and checked the gpu and its going at x16 so thats not a problem. I booted the computer with all the startup programs off using msconfig. The problem still persists.
Do you think this is windows 7?

I am having a poblem with Crysis and i also thought it may have been Windows 7,so i have just been on the Windows 7 Compatibilty Center web site and it says that Crysis is compaitible in both 32 bit and 64 bit versions,so i guess thats rules out Windows 7,back to the drawing board.

Sorry i forgot to add that i am also running Crysis through Steam,but i have contacted Steam and they say that its not a problem with them either.

Dont forget to update the Direct X runtime.
IT IS required on W7

I think mine is upto date as i am playing Dirt 2 at the moment and i think that has the latest update but i will double check,thanks.

I'd bet it was your video card for one. Playing those games at lower resolution on DX9 and then expecting as good performance on a bigger monitor at higher resolution and in DX10.............. The card have at least 1gig memory or is it a 512 model. Gotta get something better than a low end mid range card. ....... and yes, W7 does have some game issues but don't expect to read much about it on that site.......... bu ALL those games shouldn't hang.

I am running 2x4870,both have 1gig onboard,.so iam hopeing that its not my cards lol.
