Anyone heard of problems with installing more than 256Mb SDRAM on these boards? I'm getting intermittant and random system hangs when I try to install 2 x 256 or 1 x 512

it could be that one of the ram sticks are gone or one of the ram slots is gone. if they are not the exact same ram u had originally that may be the problem

are you installing the ram in the first ram slot? that setup has shared memory for the onboard video and must have ram in slot 1, also the manual doesnt say if it supports single or double sided ram, i have had problems with systems supporting only single sided ram and i tried usiing double sided and got odd results....

try updating to a later bios...also what os are you using?

Possibly the 620 may have a 256mb memory limit?

If it isn't a P6 then it isn't a procesor

1)installed in DIMM0 (slot 1), and tried the other stick in both the other slots. Still won't accept 512 PC133 in first or any slot.
2) Upgraded BIOS to latest I can find (F10), which helped in that it now accepts 2 x 256 PC100.
3) It won't accept 2 x 256 plus 1 x 128 (or 1 x 64) either
4) Still don't know why it won't accept 1 x 512 PC133 - even the black boot-up screen and BIOS screen is distorted/colour mashed.

I notice that Jeyway released a 720AFrevision2; anyone remember why/whether it's anything to do with this issue?

also forgot to mention that the 64Mb single sided works OK and the 128 & 256 double sided works OK.
also the OS is W98SE

Many motherboards around the time of the PIII 450 had a limit of 256 (double sided) per stick.
