Dekjet 3550 printing problem

Hello all,

I recently bought the above printer (about 2 months ago) and it has
worked fine up until now. While I was printing some colour photos from
Powerpoint the printout started showing the 'banding' that usually
means the ink is running out. I replaced both cartridges but the
banding is still there. I have run all the usual print head cleaning
etc. to no effect. I am thinking it might have developed a hardware
fault. Any ideas greatly appreciated.
