Hi,

I am currently doing a research on parts for my new budget P4 system. I am looking for the best value P4 motherboard that is around $140. Any recommendations?

My spec are as follows:

P4 2600C (800FSB)
Motherboard ASUS P4P800 Deluxe?? (Not decided yet)
512 MB PC3200
80GB SATA HDD
128MB GForce FX 9200 (as a budget card)
CDRW

Any comments? Thanks in advance.

Do you really NEED to spend $140? The Abit IS7 included the Intel ICH5R SATA RAID controller, firewire, and a better sound port configuration than offered by Asus. All of these things make it a better board than the basic P4P800, and much less expensive than the P4P800 Deluxe you were looking at. And the IS7 cost only $98.

Or maybe the $ saved on the IS7 will let you squeeze the budget up to a 9600Pro, so you have DX9 support.
