Which game should I get?

I'm looking for a good strategy game.

Total War or Age of Empire

or if you know any games that are better feel free to add.

Age of Empire is a little played out in my opinion, Id go for total war. The story seems better, less redundant.

You could try to get a demo off the sites to help sway your decision.

sins of a solar empire is my favorite RTS. if you haven't played it, id recommend it.

Agreed, especially Rome total war is good. I would also recommend Sins of the Solar Empire if you like space themed RTS.
But of all the "recent" strategy games my favourite is Civilization 4. This title has taken more hours of my life that i care to think about. There is a great modding community around it and the mods like Fall From Heaven totally change the game..

Also noteworhty, if you like builder type games(with good humour I might add), is Tropico 3.

Total War all the way. It is the best mix of RTS and civilization management in any game today.

And like Nowa said Tropico 3 would be a good city builder game or Grand Ages Rome which happens to be a very underrated game.

I highly recommend Red Alert 3.
