Hey,
I have a huge problem.
I had Win XP on a harddisk and then I removed that HD and moved it to another computer. And I thought that it was another HD so I installed WIn XP om it again.

Now for the problem.
Becouse I reinstalled XP and removed the old XP that all the users in it I cannot longer log in as those users.
They are all gone but the folders remain in C:\Documents and settings
I need the data in my moms folder and that one is crypted cuz she had a password in the original XP. I can open the folders that didnt have a password but the folders with a password are locked.

I really need those folders, does anyone have an idea of what I can do.

Did you use Encryption in Windows XP if not what program did you use to encrypt the folder? I guess you already tried added yourself to the folder permission and taking ownership of the folder-subfolders?

What i have found using google groups

HOW TO: Remove File Encryption in Windows XP

Without a backup of the original Encryption Certificate Key, encrypted files
are unrecoverable as they will stay encrypted forever. There is no recovery
method since the encryption algorithm is now completely different with a
reinstall of Windows XP.

See if the following articles help in any way:
