Hi

Well, i have been thinking, because Crysis 2 will be available on PS3 and Xbox360, would Crytek make another version of CryEngine3 for the PC and make the graphics quality between PS3/Xbox360 & PC look like day and night and require Gulftown/Core i7 CPU and two Fermi/Cyperss GPUs to max it out or use a little enhanced CryEngine3 on the PC that would not require a nuclear reactor powered computer ( like mentioned above ) to max it out.

And does anyone saw the official Crysis 2 PC requirements?

I appreciate your opinions

I doubt Crysis 2 PC will have sky-high requirements. Crysis 1 had terrible sales because Crytek went way too high with the system requirements. A fancy game is worthless when most PC gamers can't play it!

I agree with Glacier, from what i've seen it looks better than Crysis of course, but doesn't look like as big of a graphical leap that Crysis 1 was in 2007. I hope they don't gimp the PC version because of the consoles though.

People also don't want too play a game with a buggy, leaky game engine....

I don't see why they wont. They are going to all the consoles because they could never get enough PC sales. So they will do whatever it takes to get more profit.

I'm sure Crytek hates to do this, but they have to understand the average PC gamer. Most of us only use ONE graphics card. We can't afford a $2,000 SLI rig, which was really needed to play Crysis at max settings.

crysis 2...can't wait...even in crysis 1 i still cannot play in very high set...how shame....i wish i have the best computer in the world....any way... isn't crysis 2 have more features ? better AA maybe ?

btw...are direct3d 10 make's crysis better ?
if that right...tell me the so i can download it...are direct3d 10 avaible on xp ?

Reply to brimz

As long as Crysis 2 is not going to be a poor port of a console game, then system requirements should be lower than for Crysis 1.

By the way, Crytek has stated that PC Gamers should not worry as they are continually working to push the technological boundaries on the PC.

Read that in the latest PC Gamer, had some exclusive screens of Crysis 2 and that took the cake. Crysis 2 WILL NOT be a gimped console rip-off!

They are just going to gimp some console tards who will rage on and on about whether the 360 or ps3 version has the best graphics. What they don't realize is that the PC version is a leapyear ahead.

Can't wait!

True. People dont realize that the console has no power what so ever. The Pc is "leap years" ahead of any type of console Because the xbox ps3 play there games at Low Rez and just Up convert there image to 1080p so... Technically they are both worthless with no quality what so ever.

So, after all they'll be making special PC version? Nice!:D But, i hope it won't require hexa core and 3xGTX480!:(

as the post above, the X360 and PS3 really aren't anything near what PC's are today. Because that they made the CE3 version for the consoles to look worse than CE2 on the PC

From your post to Crytek's ears!:)

I hope it will be like that and many people will be able to experience crysis2 at least at high settings

I couldn't disagree more. I really think more games should be like Crysis when it was released - with most people able to run it on Medium and looking great (compare Crysis at Medium to other 2007 games). That way when you get a new graphics card, you can up the graphics to High, then Very High and enjoy your game all over again with even better graphics than before. If you buy a game and can already run it on Highest, then you've got nowhere to go and nothing to show for hardware upgrades.

Remember, we're talking about how good a game looks, not what the setting says in the menu. Give me a great looking game on Medium over a rubbish looking game on Highest any day! :)

At some point you're right: thats what people at crytek wanted to do, play the game in 2007 on medium and in 2008-09 play the game on the highest settings.
But, not much of the people upgrade their cpu or gpu every year. And also other games. UT3? Did it looked like rubbish? OK, it had "cheap" shadows and didn't had good physics (it didn't had it at all actualy) except if you had a nvidia physix capable gpu. Also, COD4 didn't look that rubbish.

And, beside that, how much will crysis2 look better that crysis and crysis warhead? They already have a perfect gfx!:) They just need to optimize they're engine and remove the bugs.

I'm saying, ok. Let Crysis2 have the best graphics around for another 2-3 years, but please, i want the CE3 without gigantic bugs and memory leaks like CE2 in the original.

I personally think it will look as good as crysis 1 and maybe much better but it will be better coded in order to have reasonable requirements.

The gfx is suberb but i dont think it makes a such a big WOW when the first crysis was released

What do you think?:)

LOL then releasing on consoles is a JOKE. It will be like 3 times worse in graphics then PC. And even then it might fry the crappy 360 (:
Do you think it will have DX 11?

This superb gxf will make x360 not fried, not cooked, it will make it smaller than a atom for crysis2
But, crysis2 on consoles already looks worse than crysis1 (if you gave looked the console demo for the CE3. Unreal physics and crappy shadows)

Yes i think it will have DX11 and once again it will be:

nVidia FX4400: 150fps
ATi HD 5970: 10fps

LOL on the FX4400:D:D

Crysis 2, if it were to surpass the quality and depth of the Crytech engine should be a cakewalk for Pentium 4 systems running Xp on the lowest settings, while also taxing, maxing, and churrning core X58 i7 4.0ghz oc'd, dual GPU fermi/Cypress systems on the highest settings to keep the benches and testing going along years after its release...... as a benchmark game Crysis was successful, as a marketing standpoint and game is was decent. I actually enjoyed the game but others didnt mostly due to their liking of the COD and MW series and their meak system requirments at the time( I at least had an 8800gt which was decent to play that when Crysis1 was first released.

So it's going to have better gfx but it's going to be less stressful!!!!!!!!
I HOOPE this is true! If so, Crytek are one of the best!

Yes, i think you shouldn't have any problems at very high settings (if the lower requirements are true)
Although Crysis 2 may scale way better with multicore CPU's.........

And at what resolution you are going to play?:)

Reply to unknown_13

If they can fit it on consoles requirements will be lower.

Will I bee able to play this with better FPS on medium?
DELL Optiplex 755 Customized.
Video Card : ATI 2400HD Pro PCI-E x16 1GB
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E7200 @ 2.53GHz (2 CPU's), ~2.5GHz
RAM: 2GB
DirectX Version: 11
Operating System: Windows Vista Business.
I might play at 800x600 to get good fps.
Please tell me if it will run fine on Crysis 2?

Thanks,

When it's actually out, and we can benchmark it, we'll tell you if it'll run well. Until then.... no comment.

@ Jamrock I certainly hope not.

was the reason crysis required so much graphics power because of inefficient code or what was it?

also: hoping that a 5850 will have enough horsepower to play at high settings at 1080

I'm pretty much sure it can max it out, just don't expect 16xaa lol.
Your CPU and GPU are great just not sure about the RAM. It's enough for today games and running something in the background, but with Crysis 2 i think there will be a little bottleneck by the amount of RAM you have, but i might be wrong, i.e. you won't experience such a bottleneck.

Reply to unknown_13

wasabiman123 wrote :

So 8xaa?
And if I upgrade to 6 gigs RAM, will that help?
Also, those three gigs are just random RAM from my Alienware comp so if I buy more RAM, should I just buy a new 6 gigs from a quality name or add on any 3 gigs ddr3 1333mhz?

On what settings do you played the first Crysis ( or the expansion )?

I think it won't be bad if you throw in 3 more gigs of ddr3 ram.
Best RAM manifactures are: Kingston, Crucial, Corsair, G.Skill, though OCZ, Mushkin, Patriot are not bad at all

Really I think Crysis sales suffered from a couple of problems. Not only did the high computer requirements hurt, but Microsoft packaging DX10 only with Vista which people hated. People wanted to play DX10 games but didn't want to have to upgrade their OS to a crappy OS just to play them. I think that was almost the death nail for PC games. It is nice to see some quality PC games coming back. There for a while PC games were becoming an afterthought. I think Crysis 2 will push the envelope again but will have settings that will be playable on lower level PCs.

Hmmm.. I am also very curious about the requirements.
I hope I can still play it with my current system.
