what is the difference between the two

My own beast: Athlon 2700xp+ (oc: 3200xp+ with 200fsb) , Radeon 9800pro (oc: 410/370) , 512mb ddr400. SO MUCH faster than my last computer (pIII 550......)

The A7N8X-X uses the nforce2 400 chipset instead of the 'ultra 400' chipset. therefore the A7N8X-X does not support Dual Channel RAM.

Plus of course there may be feature differences (LAN, Sound, SATA, etc) but that's the main one that springs to mind. Plus I'm too lazy to go search...

I dont think theres much difference in performance, since the athlon doesnt really exploit dual channel memory configs. However the main thing will be that the ultra 400 will most likely come with many more features because it is considered to be more high-end.
