Recently purchased a custom built pc. The specs are,

Kingston 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1333MHz HyperX Memory Kit CL7 1.7V
Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3 1TB Hard Drive SATAII 7200rpm 32MB Cache
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2 GHz Socket AM3 8MB Cache
HIS HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 DVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E Graphics Card
Samsung SH-S223 22x DVD±RW DL Internal SATA 3 Bezel Drive
Antec 300 Three Hundred Case
Antec TruePower New 650W Modular PSU

I wanted to know if there was any way of getting crysis looking better. At the moment I am running it on high settings, no anti-alising. My frame rate stays at around 40-45. If i crank it up to very high settings then the frame rate seems to suffer abit dropping as low as 25. Can i tweak any settings to boost performance. At the moment I am unfamiliar with over clocking.

I understand crysis is an exceptionally good looking game and high spec pcs are needed to run it at best but mine should be above average?

Thanks alot

Crysis is just a very demanding game...I decided for myself this is one of those games I'll be happy to be play in a few years when faster hardware is cheaper to come by.

Id agree with that. It runs fine, just wanted to see if I could get any more out of it. Apparently there are unoffical mod patches that boost performance, anyone have any knowledge about this?

YOu know the easiest answer to that would be, save up from work, chores, or whatever it is you do to make money or if you are old enough, and then sell your 5770 online. Then buy either a 5850 or a gtx285

My Q6600 with an 8800GTS 512 plays crysis just fine on medium with 2xAA and it looks great.

I would try the AA at 2x because AA makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE visually.

Why the hell are you playing Crysis on medium with 8800GTS 512? Turn off the AA and cranck up the settings to high ( of course the resolution is very important on 12x10 u will play high no problem or on 1440x900) I mean the 8800GTS 512 is still a very good GPU

I hate the AA in Crysis because it makes the vegetation rubbish( too sharp ), and 2xAA makes NO visual difference, if you can put 4xAA then it makes difference.

Eh, I like the way it looks better than high setting without AA.

And ya I play at 1440x900 so I know I don't need as much GPU power as most people who game with the bigger monitors.
