When i try and play half-life between two computers using the lan game it goes into the loading stage and says "trying to authenticate with WON servers". It then stays like this. Why am ii not able to enter the game and play over the two computers. I have done it before but never with winxp. Does anyone know how to sort out this problem and what settings need to be changed in windows or on the game?

Your help would be much appreciated.

I use OpenGL, and I get something similar. Are you able to press 'Escape' and then resume game? Press 'Escape' 2 times if once didn't work, 3 times if not that. If none of those work, I don't know.

Water cooling is for the weak. Get liquid nitrogen.

what version are you running? If you are not running the latest version of HL sometimes it wont authenticate .... I had that same problem just updated the software...

Good luck with it though.
