Abit NF7 & GeForce3 Ti500 Incompatible?

I hope someone has some experience with this problem, because I cant figure it out for the life of me. I recently purchased an Abit NF7 mobo with an Athlon XP 2500+ and 512mb of Kingston RAM. Into this system, I put a GeForce3 Ti500 card that I've had working in other machines for quite a while now.

The problem I'm having is that the machine will lock up or display a pixelated grey screen after playing any 3d game for more than a few seconds. I've only tried Morrowind and Call of Duty so far. I'm wondering if this is an incompatibility between the nforce2 chipset and the graphics card, or if I should be looking somewhere else?

Any input would be appreciated, as I'm not able to draw any conclusions about this.
