I need a new board for a new XP2600 I just got. I really don't need lots of goodies, just onboard sound and lan. Your opinion as to Brand and model please. Thankx and Happy Holidays!

I've had pretty good luck with the MSI K7N2 Delta-L with the Ultra 400 chipset. You only want to run at 333 but the board is capable of 400+. The nice thing about this board is you can pick them up for $75... one of the best buys around!

I just built a system with the MSI K7N2 Delta-ILSR, it's "sweet", the ILSR version adds the MCP-T southbridge with a VERY good sound processor (better than Creative), on-chipset 10/100 NIC, on-chipset SATA, on-chipset 1394 Firewire. It's a bit pricier than the -L version, but those features mean you'll probably buy less hardware for this board as time progresses.

yeah I just build a system with a MSI K7N2-Delta-L last week, runs great. and its tough to beat the price
