I have an Athlon 650 with 640 MB or PC100 RAM, a brand new MB from ASUS, and an ATI AIW Radeon (the original). I keep looking at all of the new stuff out there, wanting to upgrade, but I can only think of one good reason. I do a fair amount of photo editing, and since my D135 will only scan in pics in tiffs (in winXP, which is what I run), my files are huge. It takes forever to do any editing. Besides that though, all I do is web stuff. My computer is extremely fast on the web, especially since I just got my cable modem. It is a well tweaked machine to get every ounce of speed out of it. Can anybody give me a good reason why I should upgrade to a new computer if I have no real use for most of the speed?

Well, if your board supports a faster CPU that would help your video editing.

'Cause fast processors are really cheap! If it was only about "need", I'd still have... oh lets see... probably my old Pentium 90!!!
