Hi there,

i am spoilt by the choices of motherboard with Intel 875P chipset ... fortunately, out of the various motherboards i have 4 "candidates" ... which is :
1. Asus P4C800-E Deluxe
2. MSI 875P Neo-FIS2R (MS-6758)
3. Gigabyte GA-8KNXP
4. Iwill P4CT

i had read many "reviews" but still can't make up my mind ... now i need some real experience from you guys ... and not based on those "reviews" anymore ...

i would really appreciate for feedback by consumer who really test/use/own the motherboard ... Thanks!

Best regards from,

I like everything about my P4C800-E Deluxe except the voltage regulator: CPU core voltage swings nearly 10%. 10% is considered max range for normal systems, but mine is a high end system so I expect less than 5%.

i know this isnt on your list but i enjoyed building a system for a freind of mine using an epox 875 mobo 4pca3+ is the model number i bleive. Anyhow the main feature i like is the ide raid...also the price...and of course the overclocking features.

Also dont be detured by reviews about it you now can increase the core voltage by QUITE A BIT i dont remember the number off the top of my head but this board has pleanty of OC headroom.

It affects stability when I overclock. The voltage jumps both up AND down.

so ... as long as i don't overclock the ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe ... it should be a great board right?

how is it if compare to MSI 875P Neo? Thanks ...

The P4C800-E is the fastest, best equiped board in this market segment. Nothing compares to it in most areas. Of course it's stable when not overclocked, and it overclocks OK too. The only gripe I have is that it's supposed to be a SUPERIOR overclocker, yet has this one bug that can crop up when overclocking.

so ... do you mean that the P4C800-E Deluxe is the best 875P board at a price?

but i heard that in term of tech support, MSI might be better ... any idea? Thanks ...

I can't recall dealing with MSI on tech support. Abit has given me the best RMA support, Asus has been a lot more difficult than Abit, I don't know how to compare MSI.

It's not really that simple. The inexpensive Abit IS7 isn't far behind in performance or features, and offers similar stability with slightly better voltage tolerances.

$.02

I built a system using a GA-8KNXP (rev 1.0) in August. Nice board with lots of features though it's a bit high on the price side compared to the P4C800-E Deluxe. I would also mention that it's a bit finicky about ram (though I had no trouble with Corsair TWINX1024-PC3200LL [2x512MB] once I bumped vdimm to 2.7v) so be warned.

If you bought an 8KNXP now you'd almost certainly get a rev 2.0 version of the board. The difference being the ac97 sound chip is a alc658 (adds jack auto-sensing I think) as opposed to the rev 1.0's alc655.

It's probably not the best choice if you plan on overclocking since it's not known for doing that as well as the Asus (even with it's voltage troubles I expect it's a much better overclocker at this point).

Hmmm... Just listen to Crashman... from what I've read he knows what he's talking about. The P4C800-E Deluxe is probably the better value of the 2 boards if you're not dead set on some specific feature of the 8KNXP (DPS2, Dual BIOS).

Thanks!

Unfortunately ... i had asked about this model and it seems that it isn't available locally ... it is shown in ASUS's US site, but not Taiwan' site (i'm from Malaysia) which is their headquarter ...

errmmm ... i don't actually need hte best band for money on motherbaord ...

it's better for best than "cheap" as the price wouldn't differ too much ... i still think P4C800-E would be my best bet ... thanks ...
