I have a quite new Asus A7N266-VM motherboard, 2x128mb PC2100 DDR & 1400mhz Duron.
The computer has some problems to keep power on. Power shuts down before Windows has even been booted up. This happens every time i boot computer.

During boot BIOS detects on screen AMD Athlon 1800+, is this normal? There are no BIOS settings to correct the "ratings" for Duron 1.4Ghz. At least I didn´t find any? Can this cause these shutdown problems?

I have tried to change power supply 300w -> 350w, with no effect. Power still keeps shutting down ...

I'm desperate :(

Thanks. This Asus seems to be a common problem there...
I tried to change those jumper settings. I set both CPU and DRAM frequency @100mhz, at least mobo runs by those settings (1050mhz!). Mob still behaves rapidly weird when i'll try to install something. For example install screen could hang after install has finished. Could'nt install DirectX9.0 at all, got some unknown error and install ends...

Oh, almost forgot to mention those other components:
Gainward GF4 MX440 Pro/600 TV (Driver ver. 45.23)
IBM ??? 46GB
Toshiba TD-M1212 DVD-ROM
350W PSU
Win ME

Maybe im totally lost but, could GF4 drivers cause problems in windows? There still are nForce below... I perfer like to use my GF4MX card instead nForce.

Whoaaaaa, this motherboard is a piece of junk! It's cheap, but not so cheap, that you could happily spend numeruous nights for troubleshooting...
