Any great epic 2D side scroller games out for the PC?

Any new side scrollers out? Those games like the original Prince of Persia are gone. Last game I remember out for the PC which was a side scrolling game is Street Fighter which is a fighting game and should not technically be counted as it is primarily a port...

Well, not so much 2-d as a 3d side scroller and it wasn't a pc exclusive but trine was very good. Nice puzzle based platform style game that was very fun and surprising gpu intensive with AA on.

Available through steam with a little demo as well.

"New" PC sidescrollers? Flash games would be your most likelly bet. do a quick google for "flash platform games" should find plenty out there.

Apart from that sega have released some ports of classic games for the pc, but the pickings are slim.
