I have a ASUS crosshair III am3 motherboard and a phenom II 955 x4 8 gig ddr3
a visiontec 4850 graphic card now, a dell 30" monitor. what would be the best card
for the price to drive 2600x1600 res. gaming.

Just wrong.

OP: the 4870x2 is equal to the 5870. However, 25x16 gaming is still a challenge and out of those two the 4870x2 is still the best bet if you cannot get a 5870.

At that res the processor really does not come into the equation.

I have had a VisionTek 5850 on order from dell dell since 01/12/2010
they have changed est. delivery date once to 02/12/10. they have a
visiontek 4870x2 in stock. i have thought about changing my order
to it, but i really wanted a dx11 card. directcompute and Tessellation
might be very nice in up coming games ie. Aliens vs Predator

some of us remember Intel"s 8088 and when motorola came out with the 68000 when i was
fifteen years old.

I had an Amiga when in 1986 back when most IBM machines were DOS only.

Just for laughs i remember when intel would charge $500.00 for 80386 running
was it 100mhz.. A lot of people forget or do not know how much we owe AMD
for bring price down for quality processors and making Intel really work for
there money.

I do remember.......... Stance
