I just want to ask before I buy if this is a good gaming set up to buy at £870
With the following specs:
Windows 7 h.p
Ati hd 6970 2gb
i5 3579k quadcore ivy bridge 3.4GHz processor ( over clocked to 3.8)
8gb corsair vengeance
1tb hard drive
750w power supply
Asus mother board
Standard cd DVD drive
Standard intel cooling fan and heat sink
Is this a good setup?
Thank you

The PSU brand matters. Stick to Antec, Corsair, Seasonic, XFX, Silverstone, or PC Power & Cooling.

Other than that, it looks pretty solid. Although the grapics is a bit dated. Typically, a 6970 would cost $300 or so, but it's matched by a $200 7850. Where are you buying from and what options are you looking into?

Also, I'd still recommend you build it yourself as that could be had for $870 and, from my understanding, a Pound is worth quite a bit more than a dollar.
