i'm currently using 2.6C P4 with 512 MB DDR400 Kingston Hyper-X on dual channel, GeForceFX 5900 Ultra(MSI version), and MSI Neo 2.. People have been telling me that it is not a good combination, 5900 Ultra and Neo 2, and it would be very unstable..Even though i find my system running ok, I do find my PC underwhelming, with very low benchmark scores (less than 4000 on 3DMark2003) and occasional lag in games.. Anyway at first i tried to put an Asus P4P800 but my 5900 wont physically fit into because of the enourmous heatsink on both sides.. can anyone help?
any better motherboards or should i stick to my Neo 2?
how should i tweak my hardware?
Hmmm... strange. I have a similiar setup of the same board, and a Leadtek 5900u, intel 3.2gz but Corsair TwinX memory. I am running at 220x16, so 3.52ghz and my last 3Dmark03 score was 6972 so very respectable.
I have read off of the MSI boards that there may be some issues with that memory.. (I think) Definitely hit http://forum.msi.com.tw/index.php?sid= and look for some help. The folks there have been great for me.
I've had same problems with that board.. msi neo2, kingston hyper-x also. The scores are about 14500k on 3dmark2001.
But.. there has been lagging in some games. Halo slayer matches get kinda rough on that comp and it shouldn't.
