I attempted to install a 160 GB Western Digital HD in my SD11 motherboard and everything went wrong!!

I placed back the old 15 GB drive with the same (I believe) settings as before and the computer gives me an error like this:

type the name of the Command interpreter (E.G.: C;\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM

What does that mean, and where should I go from there?

Please help.

Thanks in advance

It means you messed something up and boot loader can't find command.com

Perhaps your drive is in a different position (D instead of C or something).

You might need to update the board BIOS so it can read a HD that large ?
Read the BIOS updates available to see if you need them.

Thanks,
as you might imagine I did not answer before because I did not have the computer available. Now, at work, I have some spare time....

I resolved the issue with the new HD by:
1)removing the old
2)reinstalling windows 98
3) formatting with 3 different partitions.

Now I can use it no problem and the size looks around 150 total.

The problem with the old HD still remains.

I will try what rob423 suggested for the Master Boot record.

Thanks everybody,
finally a board with some nice people!

I'll keep you posted on what happened
