I have a KT4ultra mobo by MSI. I have to change the chip set fan. It is held on by two plastic pins.you can push down on the plastic pin and it will spring back.I am not familiar with this pin.Do I have to cut them from top and let the bottom fall out of the board or will them pull out some how being they feel like they have a spring in them. You need to pull the M/B and release the pins from the backside of the M/B, by squeezing the points together until they'll pass back through the M/Bs, chipset fans mounting holes. Be careful not to damage the M/Bs surface in anyway, its a very simple procedure the hardest part is removing the M/B and reinstalling it.
I kinda thought that but dumb me found out by closer inspection the MSI chipset fan can be removed from the heatsink by two teny tiny screws. Some of the shops will cut the plastic pins and push them out so they don't have to remove the board. Thanks for the quick reply . Bruce
