i don't go to parties. but i do listen to music;
deftones, david bowie, duran duran, the cure, soulfly, tool, brother cane and any kind of blues. techno used to be good, but marketing(yuck!) gurus found that's what the kiddies today love. so it's hard to find any with substance.
Call it music, call it noise -- hell, even cal it noisic!
But I like rap, hip-hop, alternative, r&b, damn, even some country songs, just as long as they sound good! Oh, even slow songs!!! Even most manly man needs some slow songs to listen to when he's with his lady

It depends on what events are occuring. When times are stressful (especially finals and school when there's like 5 tests the same day) I tend to listen to stuff like rage against the machine, rob zombie, linkin park, etc. Usually, I listen to stuff like U2, pink floyd, queen, everclear, led zeppelin, red hot chili peppers, etc.
My frog asked me for a straw...dunno what happened his ass all over the place
I like some of the things by outcast. The last album I bought was Alicia Keys'. Went crazy for a while over "Whenever, Wherever". Won't buy Shakiras album as it is crippled and won't play on my comp.
Some of the things I like on MTV is that "miss lucifer" song by primal scream. Like the video too. Gotta love eminem. That incubus song with the swingers video is ok too. Love that "Shoot the Dog" video from George Michael.
Right now my winamp playlist contains: Outcast, Wu Tang Clan, Eminem, Dre, Tupac, Public Enemy, Mya, Lauren Hill, Brandy, En Vogue, Prodigy, Massive Attack, Portishead, Enya, Enigma, Garbage, Meatloaf, Prince, Kim Wilde, The Corrs, Mariah Carey, Alanis Morisette, Savage Garden, Sting, Michael Jackson, Faith Hill, Lisa Loeb and Eva Cassidy. Around six hours queued up.

I agree. If you're at a dance club, you don't want to be listening to pop music. Dance, techno or trance would be much better for that. When I'm relaxing anything goes though. Everything from JaRule to Black Sabbath to Lagwagon. Not country though, that's the one genre I haven't been able to get into.
I listen to almost everything, The only thing that i have a distaste for is the very very hard metal stuff, where the guys just scream and you just kinda sit there and raise a brow.
No matter how hard you don't want them to, Things eventually change.
