Hi,
was wondering if there's a proggie out that, or a way (assume I no have instruction manual) on how to tell the latency of RDRAM; if it's 40 and 45, and in the case where it's 45 and unsupported by certain mobos, can it just be pushed to 40?

My frog asked me for a straw...dunno what happened his ass all over the place

nope.
closest i know of is a proggie that fatburger clued us into a while ago called, suprisingly enough Latency

but thats more of a benchmarking dos util, so it doest tell you the absolute rating of your ram, more the reallife figures.

sandra's no help?

The label on the RIMM will indicate if it is 40ns or 45ns.
The module part number will be followed by: 800-45 100 which would indicate PC800, 45ns, compatable for a 100MHz Quad-pumped system bus.
If you had a 40ns module, I would expect to see: 800-40 133 which would indicate PC800, 40ns, compatable for a 133MHz Quad-pumped system bus.

Maybe the program called CTSPD can help, I dunno don't have a good working version of it.

P75 @ 90 Mhz... because I need the speed.

thanks alot zpyrd, that helps me alot when it comes to overclocking with certain motherboards, since the 533 fsb is only supported with 40 ns ram.

No matter how hard you don't want them to, Things eventually change.

Not true, it's also supported with 32ns RDRAM. REAL PC1066 is comming with 32ns chips, which is better than 40ns of course.

Couldn't you just ask the manufacturers?

Fun thing about the 32ns Pc1066 is that this is the minimum speed requirement for PC1200. So it should overclock quite nicely.

also 40 ns can very easy hit 533 mghz like 32 can easy hit 600 samsung allwayse keep a little room.

The day i meet a goth queen that tell me Intel suck.I turn in a lemming to fill is need in hardware.
