Hi i'm building my first computer and I bought a Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe Mobo and a AMD Athlon Xp2500+ Barton processor. I read the instructions for the mobo and it seems that the lowest setting for the fsb on the mobo is 200. I've been reading that if you change the fsb to 200 on the amd 2500+ it will give you the equivalent of a 3200+. Since the lowest setting for the fsb on my mobo is 200, when I plug in my processer will it be like I oc'd it? Yes i'm a noob. Please help. Thank you.

Use Aida32 it is also a free download but it is full version and you do not have to register or buy it to use all its functions.

It also wont fry your system running some minor benchmarks the SiS Software is a dangerous application to new users.

The Aida32 software will inform you of everything you ever wanted to know about your P.C and wont ruin it in the process it is very simple to use and understand

The normal fsb of the xp2500 is 166. If it is running cool (below 50 c) and crashfree at 200 fsb, just call it an xp3200 and say a prayer of thanks to the cpu god and or amd. Actually the yields are so good now that amd is badging 3200s as 2500s, only dif is a smaller hsf.
