why is the audio so staticy in SC? it cracks up and is very hard to hear. i have an nforce2 mobo with soundstorm audio, winxp. everything else on my system sounds fine, so it isnt that... are there patches for this? i can barely hear what the guys are saying...

Most likely you have EAX enabled. As far as I know, Soundstorm doesn't support EAX (at least not for me, and I have found no documentation stating otherwise, though it does support EAX2). Go into the game options and disable EAX.

Just download the latest drivers for your sound card, I had the same problem

I'm having the same problem! I downloaded the latest driver from ASUS, but no luck. I ran windows update and it updated some of my sound drivers, but still no luck. WTF?

Oh yeah, I also downloaded the 1.2b patch from Ubi...

Well, it's all better. I checked out Ubi.com and they said to make sure audio virtualization is set to "low" and that you uncheck "3D" and "EAX." Tried it and didn't have any problems after running the game for about an hour.

I hope this is just a software glitch, because one of the reasons I bought the A7N8X deluxe was for the high quality audio!!!
