should work... one thing you might consider is windows xp professional over home. just a better o/s all around.

also, some might recommend that you use two sticks of matched 256mb to get to your 512 as opposed to a single stick. your board supports dual channel memory, so in theory two sticks are faster than one.

nice system though. wish i had a similar set up.

Note taken Journeyman. Does XP Pro have a system backup similar to a ghost program which duplicates your Oper. sys. on a seperate part of your hard drive and you can restore it back to that condition with a click of the mouse. I have an old Compaq and used something similar for people like myself who tend to break things. Very handy.
Thanks

I forgot to mention I already have a copy of Windows 2000 Pro. I wonder if that would fit my needs. The only thing I wonder about is how well it does for gaming.

Splendid
Stick with 2k, xp is mostly cosmetic. Make sure you see if that xp2500 is not an xp3200 in disquise. Many of the locked chips seem to run at 200 fsb/ 400ddr without so much as a blip. I've been running an xp2500 on an older A7N board @ 180 X 12.5 for a long time now. Great chip, nice choices, hope you love it.
