Hi

I just bought a Asus Radeon 9600XT graphics card for my ASUS P4S333 motherboard. After trying reflashing the bios to the latest version I still could not get this card to work in the motherboard, as it would not even boot at all. I then tried the card in a friends computer and found that it worked fine so is obviously not faulty. Can anyone reccommend a good / cheap motherboard that they know supports this graphics card and will also support my 1.7Ghz Pentium 4 Socket 478 processor, as I do not want to buy any more incompatible hardware.

Thanks in advance

These high-end radeons work well with any mobo with the nforce2 chipsets for amd rigs and intel 865 chipset and up for intel rigs.

That's odd since the thing IS compatable with your chipset. Are you sure you plugged it in all the way? Are you sure your power supply is good enough?

I thought it was compatible as I looked at all the specs before I bought it, so im glad you have verified this Crashman. I've just got a new 400w power supply so i'm going to try that and see if it works.

Thanks for your help

There's always the possiblity that Asus themselves screwed something up (as they did with the P4S8X), but that doesn't seem likely on a board so old.
