War pc game castle village fortress troll demon early 2000s turn based strategy

Hi, can anyone remember the name of a turn based strategy pc game around the late 1990s early 2000s in which wood villages could be fortified, battle was indicated by two swords crossed and the units featured trolls, red demons angels etc. Each had a score in the bottom right of their box,e.g. the trolls had 3 the demon had 8 etc. Sorry i cant give any more details except i think it was called war... something not thats that much help. Anyone got any ideas? nostalgia can be annoying.

They brought out Warlords 1 through 4.
a greate turn based game.
