Hi,

My dad has a Dell 4300 which is intel 845 1.6 400 mhz with 128 mb pc133 ram, their website says it takes up to 512 mb pc133. Won't it take ddr266? I called them but I got a person reading cards who didn't quite seem to be much of a tweaker though I did get him to admit that unoficially it will accept 1gb pc133.

Your motherboard is designed for pc133 sdram. Ddram won't work and won't fit in your memory slots. You can order another 128 megs of pc133 from Dell, or try some generic memory. Check pricewatch. I get mine from aib.com. If you get a larger stick of pc133 (256 megs) put it in memory slot one, where your 128 meg is now, and move the 128 meg to the second slot.
