you will not be able to max it out, I have a GTX 260/ x4 B50 @ 3.8Ghz (1680x 1050) and even at medium settings the FPS will drop to 40ish when there is alot of action going on.

ohhh ok, well it seems that a new project is coming up for me, im building a new rig this summer,so yeahh, but 40fps arent that bad. i cant take it for now. thanks OVRCLKR !

Well it is mainly when there is alot of debris flying everywhere, other than that it stays between 50 and 60FPS (v-sync enabled).

I currently have

Q6600 @ 3.0ghz
8800gts
4gb ram
Win7 Pro 64bit

And BC2 barely every goes under 40fps for me on all high with HBAO turned off. Usually it's between 45-60fps.

So I don't think you'll have a problem.

Yea you might get 40/50/60 frames but only if you have ALL settings on low ;)

A Core2Quad @ 3Ghz cannot achieve what you posted above, this bench^^ was done with a i7 920 @ 3.7Ghz ...

i've got i5 and 4890, currently running BC2 1680x1050 with x1 AA and AF.

stable 50-60 fps, v-sync off. laggy but playable, it's not a 'twitch aim' game really. even in the intense battles it never drops below 40.

however, when i press tab to draw the scoreboard in multiplayer my framerate goes to 0-1 for a while.

so you think a Dual Core Intel Core 2 DUO E8600 @3.33GHZ can run it fine?

Yes it will run the game fine, but you can more frames by bumping up the clocks a notch ;)

OvrClkr, why do you have vsync enabled? why dont you tell us the fps you get with out it on. Mine is working great.

crysis 2 will not be that demanding of a game, they needed to make it console compatable, mostly fighting in the city, grey buildings and sky

Because when you play with v-sync disabled you get distorted images/screen tearing ;)

When you enable v-sync everything looks so much better, and the fact that a capped 60FPS (constant) is more than enough frames for flawless game-play.

The only time I turn it off is for a Vantage/06 run.

The 2600Pro is your weakest link. Any plans on upgrading the GPU anytime soon?

March 10, 2010 3:54:24 PM

Not really. the 2600Pro is on the low end, very low end at this point in time, specially for a GPU hungry game like BC2.

I play at 1680x 1050 with an overclocked quad at 3.8Ghz / GTX 260 overclocked 15% and still get lag every now n then with medium settings / x2AA / x2AF .. For the most part it stays at 60FPS capped but when all hell breaks loose and im in the middle of some major firepower/massive explosions it can go down to 40ish..

So a stock Q6600 paired with a 2600Pro is actually going to cough regardless of the settings.

The lower the res the more stress on the CPU, so of course you wont have any lag. Once you up the res it up to the GPU..

If you turn down all your settings to low (in-game) you might be able to, make sure set all you GPU properties to "performance" in the control panel.

boca_Kg man most likely you will have lag every once in a while but if you do what OVRCLKR says you might be able to run it fine. just turn down all your settings to low, and your resolution up so you Video Card (GPU) can take care of most of the tasks. Also i recommend using GAME BOOSTER a free software that enables you to turn off all unesesary tasks with the click of one button. THat might help your CPU.

most likely your GPU is not compatible with those graphics. you will need to upgrade. THe recommended requirements are having a GPU with at least 512 mb of memory. Now you might try re-installing your GPU driver and lowering your ress to lower levels. try that it might work. now on the game's menu go to system settings and set them up. they will show advanced settings . lower them to performance, or to the left so to say. another problem might be caused by your monitor so check you have the right refresh ratio and V-Zinc on.
